Does Santa Claus Read All The Letters From Children?

Santa PaulHow can Santa possibly read the millions of letters that arrive at the North Pole every year? That’s a very worthy question.

In the early days of our Christmas seasons, Santa did not get many letters. When I did, they were mostly thank you letters from children for their gift. In those days, the Toy Shop mostly built wooden toys of all types as I have always been a woodworker at heart.

As the years went by, not only was the number of children in the world growing by leaps and bounds but children were learning to read and write in greater numbers. As you might expect, the letters received  at the North Pole increased by large amounts and many began to make requests for specific toys from Santa. Today, writing a letter to Santa is a Christmas tradition practiced all over the world.

Although I read many letters throughout the year, I am not able to read every letter that arrives at the North Pole Post Office – there are just too many. Years ago, the elves devised a system where they are able to help Santa by getting as many letters to me as I can read in a day. Other letters are carefully read by a group of over 250 elves that meet every morning in a large room at our Post Office. Santa is briefed on every letter received and read by the elves.

With the elves help, we are able to read every single letter and make sure that your wishes are addressed to the best of our ability. So, when you ask me for something, Santa may sometimes say “Let me see what I can do.”

Rest assured that your letter is read very carefully here at the North Pole.
