Asheville-Hendersonville Area Santa Claus for Home Christmas Parties

Santa Paul on a Home Visit in Buncombe and Henderson County NC
Capturing the magic of Christmas – one moment at a time

“Up on the housetop reindeer pause, Out jumps good ‘ole Santa Claus, Down through the chimney with lots of toys, All for the little ones’ Christmas joy ………”

A TYPICAL HOME VISIT WITH SANTA CLAUS

1. ARRIVAL  Santa Paul will come to your home and transfer gifts you have left out into his toy bag before entering.

2. GRAND ENTRANCE  Santa Claus will make a Grand Entrance. Excitement builds as children hear sleigh bells jingling and a jolly “Ho Ho Ho” as Santa approaches. It is especially fun for children if everyone is already gathered together as Santa enters.

3. MEET & GREET  Santa Paul loves to walk around for a meet & greet. This portion of a visit can help shy or apprehensive little ones as they see a warm and kindhearted Santa talking with parents, older siblings, extended family, and friends. A quick wink and wave from Santa Claus also never hurts and can be a fun way for a child to warm up to Santa.

The Meet & Greet is a wonderful time to get some spontaneous fun photos and selfies with Santa Claus — everyone, not just the children. Santa Paul on a Home Visit Santa and Grandma hugging is a great photo. And, who doesn’t love to see Santa and Grandpa discussing tools in the Toy Shop? Even teenagers that may consider it too childish to take a photo with Santa Claus may not mind Santa standing beside them for a “buddy” photo.

4. QUESTION TIME  After the meet & greet, Santa Paul likes to take a seat and have the children gather round. Santa begins by asking the children questions to engage them and put little ones at ease. Children love to tell Santa what they know about the North Pole, the reindeer, other animals at the North Pole, and Santa’s Village.

Then it is the children’s turn to ask Santa questions. Children have so many questions and SantaChristmas Magic Claus loves to answer every one. Some common questions include how Santa is able to deliver all the presents in one night, how the reindeer fly, does Rudolph really have a red nose, how many Elves are at the North Pole, and what the Elves do for fun.

Children especially want to know all about Christmas Magic — how it is made. After explaining how magic is created, Santa shows the children Santa’s Magical Orb with its glowing magic bouncing all around!

Other questions include what Santa’s house is like on the inside and his favorite spots to visit in Santa’s Village (the Bakery and the Northern Lights Movie Theater are two of Santa’s favorites!). Children also want to know how Santa Claus can remember so many names and how Santa and the Elves are able to make all the presents.

Santa’s Reindeer Photo Album is always a big hit — children enjoy fun facts about each of those 9 very Santa Paul and his Reindeer Photo Albumfamous reindeer. Additionally, little ones love looking at photos of some of the other reindeer family members and learning where they live — such as Comet’s father, Oliver, who lives in Finland and loves coming to the North Pole to compete in the weekly Reindeer Games.

5. STORY TIME  Children’s questions will naturally lead into a Christmas story. Santa Paul can tell a modern version of Twas The Night Before Christmas, but with a surprise — Santa brings the enchanting story to life in his own words as told from Santa’s perspective.

Alternatively, Santa can read another story that is a cherished favorite of your family. SantaSanta Paul and Story Time Paul also enjoys telling animated stories in first person about his adventures at the North Pole — stories about the antics of the reindeer are a special favorite of children. Children also love the story of the magical Christmas Eve when one of Santa’s pups, Jasmine, hid on the sleigh and traveled around the world — having incredible adventures and seeing human children for the first time!! Another story that is an especially fun favorite of children is Are You Grumpy, Santa? by Gregg & Evan Spiridellis. It’s about a day when Santa Claus was a little grumpy but becomes jolly again when people do nice things for Santa. Children are excited with the retelling of L. Frank Baum’s famous story, Little Bun Rabbit — a cute little rabbit who accompanies Santa back to the North Pole to help Santa design and build the first toy rabbit. And, watch out for teddy bears on Christmas Eve! In Santa and the Christmas Bear, a curious little bear cub sneaks out of the cozy bear den to catch a glimpse of Santa and flying reindeer on Christmas Eve.

Santa's pup, Jasmine, ready to hop on the sleighTo keep little ones engaged, most stories are 5 to 10 minutes in length. Along the way, Santa Claus invites children into a story by asking questions that lead them to think about the lesson or moral of the story. In a typical 30 minute home visit, there is normally time for one story.

6. ONE-ON-ONE TIME WITH SANTA   After story time, Santa Paul will sit and talk with each child individually. Santa will listen to what a child would like for Christmas as well as other things they want to share. Children are surprised to learn that Santa enjoys giggling as much as they do. Santa loves to tell children how proud he is of them and that they are on the Nice List.

During one-on-one time, it is especially helpful for Santa to know about special things in a child’s life that are important to them (see Home Visit Information Form below). Small things such as Santa knowing a best friend, a school project your child is especially proud of, the favorite snack of a family pet, or the name of your Elf on a Shelf and what the Elf has been up to will make an immense difference in the excitement and magic of the visit for your child.

After looking up their name in Santa’s Naughty or Nice Book, children on the Nice List are presented The Official Nice List Certificate and awarded a Christmas Bell. The Christmas Bell is handmade by the Metalworking Elves exclusively for Nice List Certificate holders and reminds children to be kind, generous, and helpful to others throughout the coming year.

The one-on-one time of the visit works well for a posed photo.

7. PRESENTS & PHOTOS  Santa then hands out presents, poses for a group photo, and wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas before heading back to the North Pole.

Santa believes that a 1/2 hour visit is sufficient for most single-family home parties. Some visits can go longer depending on the number of children, additional families included or special activities planned.

The schedule of events in a typical Home Visit detailed above is only a suggestion. The inclusion of some of the items listed above will vary between visits depending on the specific interests of the children, Santa’s previous visits with a family, or the age of children.

Please ask if you would like Santa Claus to do something unique, different, or not listed here. Santa Paul will work with you to make your visit very special with the activities and traditions that are important to you.

Due to time constraints during the busy Christmas season, Santa Paul only makes appearances at locations that are within Buncombe and Henderson counties.

HOME VISIT INFORMATION FORM

Prior to a visit, Santa will email a Home Visit Information Form for each child that gives you an opportunity to list information that you would like Santa Paul to know for a great Home Visit in the Asheville and Hendersonville area.

This information includes the child’s name and age as well as optional details about schools, teachers, pets, best friends, favorite activities, things a child is proud of (Santa loves to tell a child how proud he is of them!!), a favorite Christmas present Santa brought, and so on.

The amount of information you provide on the Home Visit Information Form is totally up to you and feel free to skip any areas. The goal is simply to help Santa Claus be aware of special things in a child’s life that are important to them. If a loved one has passed recently or someone is currently stationed overseas, it helps Santa to know to avoid touching on sensitive issues. If a family member or close friend is unable to attend your event this year, Santa Claus is happy to help you and your family record a special Christmas message for them — bringing holiday joy to them even if far from home.

“I have always thought of Christmas as a good time; a kind, forgiving, generous, pleasant time; a time when men and women seem to open their hearts freely, and so I say, God bless Christmas!”

“A Christmas Carol” Charles Dickens, 1843
