Asheville Hendersonville Area Santa Claus For Hire - Photo Shoots
Santa Claus is always ready for fun and laughter

Santa Paul is available for family photo shoots in the Asheville and Hendersonville area. Santa can come to your home, a local scenic area, favorite park, or a local photo studio. Family photos with Santa Claus can become beautiful and personal Christmas cards for friends and family, wonderful gifts for grandparents and others, and simply treasured memories of a magical event in a child’s life.

Santa always stays in character for the entire photo shoot with children and families.

Santa Claus understands that it can be frustrating for some families to go to the mall, stand in line, and then hope to get a good picture. A private photo shoot allows time for Santa to talk with children and have fun together. You’ll have lots of opportunities to get some great shots and videos.

A home or on-location photo shoot usually lasts 30 to 60 minutes. Please contact us for a personalized quote for your event.

Due to time constraints during the busy Christmas season, Santa Paul only makes appearances at locations that are within Buncombe and Henderson counties.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR GREAT SANTA CLAUS PHOTOS

1. PREPARE THE CHILDREN — ESPECIALLY TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOLERS: Talk to children about the upcoming visit with Santa Paul. Pull out pictures from previous years to remind them of their past Santa visits. Suggest they write a letter to Santa and deliver it to him personally.

Read fun holiday books about Santa, his reindeer, and the North Pole and remind children that they will be able to ask Santa questions about all those things. Tell stories about your visits with Santa when you were young.  These and other things can help build a child’s anticipation for visiting Santa.

2. POSING FOR PICTURES: You may have an idea in your mind of what a “traditional” picture with Santa should look like. Do not feel any pressure to get this traditional photo if it does not work for your child. There are many fun poses that can be done.

Some children love to sit on Santa’s lap and whisper while another will have no part of that! Other children like to simply stand beside Santa or sit on a parent’s lap with Santa Claus looking on.

Another fun idea is to let your child sit in Santa’s chair while Santa stands behind the chair peeking out and getting a great laugh from a little one. Sometimes Santa Paul can be sneaky — the child sits on a chair or couch (alone or with a parent) and only sees family members without realizing that the Big Guy is standing behind the chair. This pose is especially effective with apprehensive babies and toddlers.

3. DRESSING FOR THE PHOTO:  Santa Paul wears a burgundy velvet suit for photos as photographers prefer the darker color as opposed to a bright red suit. Dark bold colors in green, red, navy, emerald or plaids look wonderful with Santa.

A good idea is to coordinate with two or three colors. Too many colors between different family members can detract from a photo. As well, it is generally better to stay with mostly solid colors and avoid a lot of prints and patterns.

4. PLAN DISTRACTIONS: Bring along favorite things that your child loves — a bottle for blowing bubbles, a favorite toy or cherished stuffed animal, a favorite song on your phone that can be played, or a fun snack. Little things can distract a child long enough to get a great photo with Santa.

5. USE FUN AND SILLY POSES: The Christmas season is a time of fun and laughter. Surprised reactions, smiles, and silliness not only work for children but for Santa Paul as well. Little ones love to catch Santa off-guard and surprise him!

6. LET YOUR CHILDREN TAKE THE LEAD: Let your children use their creativity by allowing them to take the lead with what might be a fun picture with Santa Claus. You might be pleasantly surprised with their ideas.
