“Oh, my dear little one … I wish with all my heart that I could fix every hurt in the world. Santa’s magic can do many wonderful things – but some things belong to God, love and family. What I can do is hold your pup close in my heart tonight and I can bring a little comfort and courage to you. And remember that you carry the strongest magic of all – a love that never goes away.”
Let me tell you a little story:
Once on a quiet Christmas Eve, as the Northern Lights danced across the sky, a small, shimmering star drifted down to Santa’s Workshop. It twinkled softly almost like it was trying to bark!
Mrs. Claus looked up.
“Santa,” she whispered, “I think someone special has come to visit.”
I held out my mitten and the tiny star floated gently into my palm. As I looked closer, I could see something wonderful – the shape of a little tail wagging inside the light.
“Well now, I know just who you are.”
It was a Star Pup – a pet who had been loved so deeply on Earth that when it left its family, it rose into the sky and became part of the Christmas night.
Star Pups are a very special kind of magic. Their job is to watch over those who love them.
The tiny Star Pup spun in a happy circle and I chuckled.
“You miss your family, don’t you?” The little star glowed brighter.
I knelt in the snow and said gently,
“I cannot bring you back the way you were – because love has already given you a new place in the sky. And your family carries your heart forever. That kind of magic is stronger than anything I could ever do.”
Well, the Star Pup floated up beside the sleigh while sprinkling soft sparkles that felt like warm memories.
“Would you like to come with me tonight?” I asked.
The star wagged again – brighter than before.
And so, the Star Pup rode with Santa across the world, sending tiny glimmers down to the child who missed him most. Each sparkle was a reminder:
“I’m still with you. I’m still yours. Love doesn’t disappear.”
When the night was finished, I lifted my eyes to the sky.
The Star Pup rose higher and higher until it nestled among the other stars, shining gently like a forever-home light.
I whispered,
“Your pet is safe. Your pet is loved. And though I can’t bring them back to Earth, their love shines on you every single day.”
And if you ever look up at the night sky and see one star twinkle just a little extra…
that might just be your Star Pup saying hello.
